I hope to keep everyone up-to-date on activities happening throughout our county, state, and nationally as well as being informed on issues concerning our AGRICULTURE industry. For starters, let me take a minute to introduce ourselves:
This year my husband and I (Matt and Lena Leak) have been asked to be the Young Farmer and Rancher Chairmen for Cache County. We are excited about the possibilities that lie before us and hope that with your help we will be able to make many new friends as well as achieve goals we have set. Matt and I both grew up on small farming operations. He in Southern Idaho on a dairy farm and I in Southern Utah on a crop farm. We met while attending USU and working at the University Dairy in Wellsville. Matt earned his degree a year after we were married and hired on with Cargill, Inc as a Dairy Nutritionist. We are in our third year of owning/operating our own Dairy and raising 4 awesome kids (1 girl, 3 boys)! I stay at home and enjoy my time as a mother, bookkeeper, nurse, calf-feeder, ect. In our spare time we like to camp, ride horses, attend Aggie games, and just be with family! We enjoy our rural lifestyle and simple way of life.
